Through initial core drilling exploitable deposits are pegged out as a first step. Strata profiles in a system of coordinates with max. 50 m distance between the drill holes give sufficient information on quality and quantity of clay zones. Subsequent sampling at the face will serve production control.
Consistent quality inspection and control: During the preparation of the individual products, we ensure a constant supervision on representative samples of the current material flow using automatic samplers. The essential parameters in the raw material data sheets are determined according to DIN regulations, following the recommendations of the German Ceramic Society (DKG) as well as customer-specific agreements.
In our modern central laboratory, the following tests are carried out on ceramic raw materials:
Chemical analysis (XRF), dilatometer examinations (expansion-shrinkage behaviour, thermal expansion coefficient determinations), firing colour, dry bending strength, castability, body formation and rheology, particle-size distribution and bulk density. Further tests are carried out upon request.
